This weekend, the first international exhibition of Art and Culture, Afluents, took place in the towns of Amer, Anglès, and La Cellera de Ter. We are very pleased with the reception of the public to the different events that aimed to showcase the unique characteristics of the guest country, this time Poland.
On Friday, November 6, we had the visit of the Consul of Poland, Mr. Wodzimierz Nabrdawski, and the Cultural and Promotion Attaché of the consulate Hanna Podolska, as well as Mrs. Isabel Ruiz from the Government of Catalonia. The day began with a visit to the Centre de Creació Cultural Can Clos, the headquarters of Idea Gestión Cultural, where we were fortunate to organize the first symposium with the participation of six emerging Polish artists in the first residency and exhibition we hosted. Then a visit to the contemporary art exhibition “Poczta z Polski” at the Sala Fontbernat in Anglès, where we had the Mayor of Anglès and members of the Cultural Association Krakus. The activities in Amer concluded with the official reception of the Consul by local authorities.
This day ended with the recital of the soprano Iwona Sobotka and Ángel Cabrera at the Teatre de Amer. Simply spectacular.
On Saturday, there was a performance by Krakus at the Sala Fontbernat, children’s workshops, a visit to the art exhibition with the presence of the artists, tourist promotion, and a tasting of Polish cuisine. In the afternoon, a fantastic meeting was held in the Can Clos studio, where we worked on the organization of upcoming activities.
On Sunday, we concluded the exhibition with the participation of Krakus in the Solemn Mass held at the Santa María de Sales Church in La Cellera de Ter.
From Idea, we want to thank the collaboration of the municipalities of Amer and Anglès for hosting these activities. We are satisfied with the result and want to highlight their courage in betting on new formats of quality and international events. We also want to thank the local associations that have collaborated and especially the Embassy and the Consulate of the Republic of Poland for continuing to support us in organizing events to showcase their culture and create links and exchanges with towns in Catalonia. We also appreciate the complicity of the Krakus association, Iwona, and Ángel for facilitating the realization of their recital, Mossén Ramón Oller and the Centre Cultural Parroquial de La Cellera de Ter, Disisdisseny for the photographs and design of the posters, and all the artists who have exhibited their works in the exhibition and those who participated fully in the Symposium at Can Clos.
We believe, after conversations with associations and municipalities, that this exhibition will continue and grow with the possibility of carrying out more activities in more spaces with greater dissemination. Idea has already started working with the Consulate of Brazil to hold this exhibition in 2016.
