International Creative Residency at Can Clos and Ca Les Hermanes with artists from Poland and Catalonia

In July 2025, IDEA Cultural Association organized a new international creative residency at Can Clos (La Cellera de Ter) and Ca Les Hermanes (Amer), in collaboration with public and cultural institutions from the region. This initiative brought together a group of artists with a long and respected professional background, from both Catalonia and several Polish cities, for an intensive period of artistic work, research, and exchange.

The Polish artists Agnieszka Selak and Bibi Selak (Kraków), Ula Ślusarczyk (Warsaw), and Pascal Szumlanski (Gdańsk) worked alongside Catalan artists Josep Burset, Jordi Gispert, Oriol Tucca, Joan Gol, and Miquel Tomàs, active in disciplines such as painting, photography, video, sculpture, music, and scenography.

Throughout the residency, participants engaged in collaborative sessions, internal workshops, creative documentation, and interaction with the local context. Some of the processes were opened to the public, offering unique opportunities to experience the artists’ work in progress and foster local participation.

With this experience, IDEA reaffirms its commitment to continue regularly hosting international creative residencies, open to multiple artistic disciplines and welcoming artists from diverse countries. The goal is to consolidate a creative and dialogic space rooted in the rural environment, encouraging intercultural collaboration, connection with the territory, and the development of contemporary artistic practices.

The project was supported by the Catalan Government – Department of Culture, the Diputació de Girona, and the municipalities of La Cellera de Ter and Amer.
